A new version of the PlayStation 5 has reportedly gone on sale in Australia.

The PS5 model CF-1200A was supposed to go on sale in Japan in mid-September, but appears to have shipped to Australian retailers first.

It’s said to be lighter, with the new disc-based console said to weigh 300g less than its 2021 counterpart. And considering the launch edition was even heavier, the new PlayStation is 600g lighter than day one .

A new version of the PS5 Digital Edition (CFI-1202B) has also been spotted on store shelves. This model is also lighter than the previous version – with a weight saving of 200 g.
